Recently, multi-platinum selling rapper turned business mogul, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, sold his minority ownership stake in the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets in order to become a licensed sports agent under his new sports management company, Rocnation Sports Management. Rocnation Sports’ has managed to snag a few big names as clients since its inception including, New York Yankees slugger Robinson Cano, three time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant, and social media starlet Skylar Diggins of the WNBA’s Detroit Shock.

Rocnation Sports has plenty of supporters who applaud what its founder has been able to achieve, however, the spanking new management company has its fair share of critics as well who believe that Mr. Carter and his team of managers have no business dabbling in the sports world. One of those critics being veteran sports writer Jason Whitlock who recently took to his Fox Sports column where he completely dug into Jay’s effectiveness as an aspiring sports agent as well as his stature as a African-American “role model” .
