Matthew Knowles, the father and former manager of pop sensation Beyonce, recently participated in his first public interview since reports surfaced earlier this week that the reasoning behind he and his daughter severing business ties was due to the fact that he allegedly “mishandled” a large amount of Beyonce’s funds.

In the exclusive sitdown with The Associated Press, Knowles vehemently denied any wrongdoing and ultimately placed the blame on his daughter’s Live Nation handlers.

“We absolutely have not taken any money from Beyoncé, and all dollars will be accounted for,” he told the AP in aninterview. “In no way have we stole money. Again, this about the people who have made these claims—they have to come into the light.”

Despite B giving him the boot, the elder Knowles claims that he holds no ill will towards his superstar daughter:

“The relationship with Beyoncé is extremely amicable. I want to make that clear. Where there’s concern is the people that she’s doing businesswith,” he explained. “I’m challenging all of these folks on integrity, professional integrity.”

Upon the departure of her father as manager, Beyoncé put together a new team, which mostly consisted of executives from Live Nation and Roc Nation.

“She changed almost every aspect of her business,” he said. “The team ironically appeared to be a cross-pollination of Beyoncé’s team, Roc Nation’s team, and Live Nation’s team, who ironically have the most to gain.”

Knowles went on to reveal that he has not spoken to Beyonce since they parted ways, but hopes the court will be able to bring them back together and clear his name.

“The only way we will be able to understand this is through a court of law. That’s the only way either one of us will be clear if someone in our camps did something that was not correct.”

Matthew also touched on the release of his daughter’s latest studio album, 4, which to date is her lowest selling debut. Some might correlate the album’s slow performance to the fact that it’s the superstar’s only album not released under the successful management of her now estranged father.

“They put out the record in a vacuum,” he said, while praising his daughter’s status as a pop icon. “It makes you believe that there are some artists that don’t need radio. There are some records that don’t need a record label, and Beyoncé is one of those artists.”

Whether you believe Mr. Knowles or not, you can’t argue the fact that the man has a proven track record which constantly produced results. The numbers simply don’t lie.
