We recently had the pleasure of chopping it up with one of television’s rising new personalities, the always entertaining Miss Natalie Nunn. Never one to hold anything back, Natalie dishes about life after the Bad Girls Club, her new partnership with Oxygen , and what loyal fans can expect from the Natalie Nunn brand in the not too distant future. Check it all out below.
MyBuzzworthy: The public has watched you transition from being America’s favorite Bad Girl to becoming a full fledged media personality rubbing elbows with the likes of Meagan Good, Marcus Paulk and even upcoming rap star French Montana, how did all that come about?
Natalie Nunn: Yeah, it’s actually been pretty crazy. I’ve met everyone, but even before the show I met a lot of people just being out in LA. It’s really cool because I’ve been able to build some great relationships. Like Trina for example, I remember growing up just being a fan of her music and buying her first album when I was like in the eighth grade ,then Bad Girls happened and now we speak to each other on the phone like every other day, and we’re constantly texting each other all the time. It’s just crazy. As far as the whole French Montana thing, I know Waka(Flocka) and Waka was in the studio with French out here in LA during Bet Awards Weekend and I have a song coming out so I was just you know hanging out & talking to a few different people to see who I would want featured on the track with me and that’s how the whole me meeting French Montana thing came about. I already knew Waka, but that was my first time meeting French.
MyBuzzworthy:What can fans expect to see from Natalie Nunn in the near future?
Natalie Nunn: This Tuesday I have my Hair Battle show that’s about to air on Oxygen where I’ll be one of the judges, and you can also expect two other projects to air on Oxygen by the end of September but I can’t reveal what they are just yet, you’re just going to have wait for the big surprise.
MyBuzzworthy: I just hope one of those things involves Natalie Nunn landing her own show.
Natalie Nunn: Yeah everybody’s saying they want to see that. I’ve been hearing that from alot of people, I like the energy. You’re just going to have to stay tuned and watch what happens.
MyBuzzworthy: I actually had the pleasure of speaking to two of your gal pals, upcoming celebrity twin designers Coco & Breezy and they had nothing but nice things to say about you.
Natalie Nunn: Awww those are like my little sisters! Funny thing about Coco & Breezy is that they remind me so much of myself back when I was 19. When I was 19 I lived in New York for a while, I had just sort of moved out there on a whim kind of like Coco & Breezy did. They had their dream of designing and they moved out to NY to pursue it, where as my thing was I always knew I wanted to be a personality so I went to New York to just see what was out there for me, people naturally love my energy and personality so I just knew that’s what I wanted to do. But as far as Coco & Breezy go there living the dream right now, I totally admire what there doing and honestly I don’t know if I’ve ever met any 19 year old’s who work as hard and as passionately as they do.
MyBuzworthy: You were recently on the Star & Bucwild Show and the show’s producers also had nothing but nice things to say about you. Where do you think America gets this negative perception of you?
Natalie Nunn: It’s going to take America a while to accept the other sides of me. I mean their first introduction to me was the Bad Girls Club, and unfortunately the show is called the Bad Girls Club for a reason so their not going to show me doing nice stuff or being a sweetheart. Not to mention the show’s extremely edited. I mean obviously my actions are my action’s and after seeing the show there are things that I realized I do need to fix, but that comes along with the territory of opening up your life for America to judge you.
When you’re a personality people judge you on everything you do. I think being a personality is harder than being an actress or a singer because if the public doesn’t like the singer’s song the singer can easily say ” Hey I didn’t write that song, someone wrote it for me” and the public will accept that. Same thing goes for an actress, they can play a role and if the public doesn’t like it they can easily say “hey that wasn’t me , that was just a role I was playing”, but personalities don’t have that same luxury. Personalities are characters that are real, so for me being a personality people are always going to have a love/hate relationship with me no matter what I do. Say I were to open up a homeless shelter and do nice things for the rest of my life people would still go back and say “remember when Natalie said this that and the third on Bad Girls Club” , it’s never going to change. They’re going to love me, they’re going to hate me. I just think that people are just going to have to learn to respect that there’s going to be several different sides of me.
MyBuzzworthy: Alot of people don’t realize how hard it is to live your life in front of the public eye.
Natalie Nunn: I studied this industry beforehand and knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I signed up for it. I’ve always wanted to be a personality. Girls get picked to go on these shows and they come and then they go. I feel like me being prepared for this industry is what makes the difference between Natalie and anyone else to ever hit the Bad Girls Club.
MyBuzzworthy: This industry seems like a hard one to get accustomed to due to it’s open lack of privacy.
Natalie Nunn: This industry is hard, it’s really hard. Earlier on you brought up Meagan Good whose been a dear friend of mines for the past seven years. I practically begged Meagan to come on and join me for like a girls day out, you know just us hanging out like normal while they film us for one of my other projects I’m working on right now and Meagan flat out told me “I do not want America to know Meagan Good”. When Meagan does interviews Meagan’s “Meagan”. She’s going to address an interview a certain way, but once you’re on a reality show and the cameras are there they can catch anything. There aren’t any do overs. They can catch you saying “shit, bitch, fuck” or whatever and alot of these people don’t want the world to know who they really are. Meagan was like “I’m an actress, I don’t want the people to know the real Meagan Good” and I totally respect that. Its’ tough you know, it’s a totally different world. People will judge you because they feel as if they know you off of reality television. I think it’s tougher for me to walk down the street than it would be for a Meagan Good or a Teairra Mari just because since your a reality star the people feel as if they know you so it’s okay. People will come up to me and be like ” Oh My god I totally felt you when you were crying!” and it’s like they feel like they know me and they feel connected and it’s just really weird because in actuality they really don’t know you.
