Earlier today in what was long overdue for thousands of ailing 9/11 “First Responders“, the House passed a much needed bill that would provide free health care to the thousands of ailing and dying men and women who so bravely and unselfishly rushed to our nation’s aid on that tragic morning nearly ten years ago.

A bill to provide free health care to 9/11 survivors and first responders has cleared the House.

Lawmakers approved the $7.4 billion measure by a vote of 268 to 160, with Democrats mostly in favor.

Earlier, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the James Zadroga 9-11 Health Act a key part of thanking first responders for all they did during the Sept. 11 attacks.

“We are here today to say that we do remember you this week,” said Pelosi. “We remember what you did at the time and it wasn’t only your sacrifice. It’s the sacrifice of your families, of your health and the impact that has on your families. You are community to New York, so the impact it has on the community and also the impact on our conscience.”

Now the House approved bill moves on to the Senate where republican assholes are actually considering to vote against it.

Let’s all come together and make our voices heard to ensure that this does not happen. These brave men and women who put their lives on the line for our great nation deserve that much.

Props
