MyBuzzworthy: Being originally from the North, but ending up in the south , have you seen any shade from any Southern artists trying to hate on your grind because you’re technically from the North?
Torch: Oh of course. At the end of the day there’s a whole bunch of what I call regional haters. I’ve been behind the scenes for so long that alot of people don’t really realize how much stuff I actually wrote for people so when they used to hate I used to laugh because I’d be in the club and I aint going to say the artist name , but they’d be like jamming to the artist hard body and I’m just laughing because the same nigga talking about he don’t feel that up north shit but he jamming to my shit just cause it’s coming from a nigga from the west or it’s coming from a chick! Like it was crazy to me, but it was a great feeling that let me see from the eyes of somebody else that the world feels my shit.
MyBuzzworthy: Now I’m not going to name the artist if you don’t want me to, but it’s been a lot of controversy surrounding one of your fellow south artists due to the suspected subliminal shot’s he’s been taking at certain members of your team. How do you feel about that.
Torch: Yeah man, none of us really feeling that. I had to call a spade a spade the other day .
MyBuzzworthy: Yeah I know, we all seen you going in on Twitter. I commend you for doing that too, because I feel a lot of us felt the same way.
Torch: That was the first time I can honestly say I realized how powerful Twitter is. I was really just speaking my mind like I was just being me, just saying how I feel because I don’t pull punches and I don’t kiss ass. So me just speaking my mind on the situation, the next morning I just get bombarded with calls and I’m looking like what the fuck everybody blowing me up for, and I was also on damn near every website across America because of Twitter. Shit was crazy man. It blew my mind, but at the end of the day, “Buddy” said he wasn’t talking about Ross so I wasn’t talking about Buddy.
MyBuzzworthy: We all know “Buddy” used to be the hottest thing in the south running shit, but now with Ross in the forefront crushing everything movement it looks like he aint too happy that he’s on the backburner now.
Torch: Oh naa Buddy still hot, matter fact forget all that”Buddy” shit we talking about Jeezy. I’m a man I could say niggas names. I got respect for homie music, he make good music, he was even on Triple C’s second single so to see him take them shots like that it’s like come on dog, we on the same label, we know the same people, we be in the same places so to feel like you gotta do anything besides call your people and be like “what’s up Mo, this that and the third” it’s kind of crazy for me you know what I’m saying. He lost a lot of points in my book with that.
MyBuzzworthy: I think he lost a lot of points in everybody’s book with that one. You’re all on the same label so if there was any type of problem or grievances why not just pick up the phone and talk about it directly instead of sending these obvious subliminals?
Torch: Exactly, but with that being said it’s like Triple C’s going keep doing what we been doing, of course you see Ross doing what he doing and we just going keep moving forward and niggas can keep being subliminal if they want too but just know we going bring it straight to your motherfuckin chest.
MyBuzzworthy: I definitely hear that.
