I recently had the pleasure of chopping it up with Coco & Breezy, the 20 year old fashion forward twin designers from Minnesota who have completely taken the fashion world by storm! These talented lovelies stepped on the scene less than a year ago and have already changed the game.Their designs can be found in countless magazines, they’ve already supplied fashion to some of today’s hottest celebrities the likes of Nicki Minaj, Nivea, Ciara, Ashanti, Kelly Rowland, Kelly Osbourne, the list just goes on and on. These ladies are on a collision course with greatness and I don’t see them slowing down anytime soon. But enough of me telling you how they do what they do, scroll down below and let them tell you for themselves.
MyBuzzworthy: Where Did the names Coco & Breezy come from?
Coco & Breezy: Well, when we were younger our mom and dad used to call us Coco & Breezy(shortened versions of the the Twins actual names) and we used to get very embarrassed to be called Coco & Breezy in front of our friends. No one really knows this , but we actually used to be really involved in dance back then. So when we started dancing backup for different artists we figured we needed cool dancing names so we just said hey let’s run with Coco & Breezy and after a while our friends started to call us that and the name just stuck. People from our hometown of Minnesota would call us like you “hey you guys are Coco and Breezy the girls that dance right?. So from the very beginning we branded ourselves as Coco & Breezy instead of as Coriana and Briana.
MyBuzzWorthy: So whose the older Twin, Coco or Breezy?
Coco & Breezy: Coco! That’s why my name goes first.
MyBuzzworthy: You’re older by how much?
Coco& Breezy: I’m older by one minute.
MyBuzzworthy: Okay, now who acts older, Coco or Breezy?
Coco & Breezy: Umm, me Coco, I’m the Boss. (Breezy disagrees and emphatically interjects) Whatever Coco! Coco thinks she’s the boss of me, but I’m aggressive, I talk the business.
MyBuzzworthy: Okay so Breezy’s the aggressive one and Coco’s the kitten?
Coco & Breezy: Noooooo. I’m the boss when it comes to doing stuff together, but when it comes down to doing business with other people Breezy is aggressive, she is a beast! I’d be scared of her if I were you.
MyBuzzworthy: You ladies are originally from Minnesota, but recently relocated to NYC to pursue your fashion dreams. How has the journey been so far?
Coco & Breezy: We’ve been here for less than a year, ten months to be exact, and honestly it’s the best move we could of ever made. New York is beautiful.
MyBuzzworthy: Being so young and so far away from your friends and family do you ever get homesick?
Coco & Breezy: Nope. We miss our Mom and Dad, that’s about it. We’re Brooklyn Girls now.
MyBuzzworthy: Did the initial transition of going from small town Minnesota to the hussle & bussle intensity of NYC intimidate you ladies at all?
Coco & Breezy: No we weren’t intimidated at all. We didn’t really fit in in Minnesota. In Minnesota no one really understood our style. Once we moved to New York we felt more comfortable.
