Common is the latest celebrity to grace the cover of iconic JET magazine. In the new issue, the hip-hop veteran turned Hollywood regular  discussed his take on the meaning of true love, dealing with heartache, and how the two have motivated him in his film and music career.

On the meaning of love:
“I think the core of the human being and the heart is love, and we all want that,” he said. “Love has allowed me to do the things I’m doing in life. I feel like we all deserve that — to receive love and give it, too. I think when you give that love — love of God, love of other people, self-love — you’re able to make the world better. Your days go better.”

On his experience loving women:
“I have been in love, and I did get my heart broken,” he said, noting that he’s man enough to openly share sans inhibition. “As an adult, I can say I’ve been through love, and this is some of the experiences I’ve had. Men love. Men go crazy over women. They go to prison, start wars and lose hair over them. Don’t act like you can’t acknowledge it. It may be that you haven’t been through it, so I’m not afraid to say it.

On how love affects his life today:

Last week, NBA players missed their first paychecks of the season. But, as it turns out, they aren’t the only ones hurting right now because of the NBA lockout. Restaurants, hotels, bars, nightclubs, and other establishments are losing plenty of paper, too. In fact, a man who runs an escort service in New York City told CNBC’s Darren Rovell recently that even his line of work is struggling right now because of the lockout. The reason? NBA players who usually pay anywhere from $400 to $4000 for a night out with one of his escorts aren’t booking girls like they usually do. As a result, business is down 30 percent.

“There are replacements,” he said, “but they aren’t as consistent and not nearly as high paying.”

Hmmm… I wonder if whores get unemployment? Can anybody answer that for me?? ( Forreal though… I wanna know).

After nearly a year long war of words, DJ Khaled comes through and promises Def Jam artists Rick Ross and Young Jeezy have officially settled their past differences.

While speaking to Bootleg Kev, the We The Best CEO revealed that both Southern MC’s are leaving  the beef behind them and are back to making powerful music.

“Well first of all, I don’t condone problems,” Khaled explained in an interview with radio host Bootleg Kev. “That’s what I do. I represent that love and making great music. And them two guys, they don’t have no problems. So, you know, I guess this is an exclusive, they don’t have problems. I guess people in the streets, they try to make things into a problem. But that’s just life. That’s when you know you’re hot and that’s just part of the game, man. Being in the game and being successful, you have to deal with things like that.
