So I guess the rumors that have been floating around for the past couple of months claiming that  Mrs. Marc Anthony has been sneaking around having secret negotiations with Def Jam  exec’s were true since Jennifer Lopez herself finally admitted that she has indeed signed with famed producer/businessman LA. Reid & his  Island Def Jam imprint. Word about the signing broke after an overzealous  reporter grilled Lopez on the subject  while she was promoting her new movie ‘The Back Up Plan’. Via Hitfix:

Hitfix’s Greg Ellwood asked Lopez point blank “Are you signing with Def Jam” on Monday during an interview for “The Back-Up Plan” and she said yes, not once, but twice, smiling about the prospect. Word on the street is that Reid will not only sign Lopez, but will produce the actress/singer’s new album.

So if Jennifer’s in does that mean Mariah’s on her way out? I mean everyone knows these two can’t stand each other and Def Jam just isn’t big enough for both these diva’s soooooo I’m guessing since they did just shelve Mariah’s  latest album the powers at be have a pretty clear guess on who they’re betting there chips on,umm yeah sorry Mariah.
