An elderly spanish woman who recently made news as the oldest mother to give birth at age 69 according to The Guinness World Records has passed away leaving behind 2-year old twins according to reports late wednesday.
Maria del Carmen Bousada gave birth in December 2006 after alledgedly lying to Los Angeles clinic telling clinic officials that she was 55, the clinic’s maximum allowed age for single women receiving in-vitro fertilization. Guinness World Records has stated that the 66-year-old mother was the oldest on record to give birth.
Bousada’s brother Diario de Cadiz has confirmed to local news outlets that she has [passed away but he did not reveal the cause of death. One of these local outlets have hinted that Bousada had been diagnosed with a tumor shortly after giving birth. No word has been given yet on who will be looking after the twins left behind by Bousada.
